Steven Soderbergh brought star Matt Damon and the rest of his cast and crew to film chunks of “The Informant!” here in Decatur, Illinois. Knowing my way around a set, I was asked by the local paper to write about the filming throughout its schedule. During the course of my reporting, I was able to get some great quotes from Soderbergh, Damon, and costar Scott Bakula, as well as many of the talented crew and fans who came out to watch. It was a great experience and a joy to share.
With permission, I present here the stories I wrote for the paper. If you’ve seen the film, you’ll find that several of these pieces discuss scenes that were ultimately cut from the final version of the film. One in particular – the one featured in the very first story – actually earned one of the biggest laughs during test screenings before being cut.
If you enjoy these and haven’t already, check out the video my comedy group, Troupe Dynamic, filmed in regards to the movie:

For the “Night of the Living Zombies March” event put on by Ayn Owens (Oct. 24th, 2009), I was asked if I could come up with a “history” for the main zombie, Arbogast B.A. Zombie. I couldn’t say “Yes” fast enough! She sent a couple of photos to inspire me (of Arbogast portrayer Justin Hesse in full makeup), and boy did it ever. So with permission, I enthusiastically present “The Tale of Ol’ Arbogast,” in which we learn from an unnamed good ol’ boy how ol’ Arbogast became a zombie. And a peculiar one at that.
